First and foremost, thank you to everyone who applied to participate in the Origins Football Cup! Unfortunately, not everyone could be selected, but don’t take it personally. If the community enjoys playing and watching this event, we would love to host more in the future.

🚨Teams & Players🚨

32 players have been randomly selected and assigned to a country team. Each team will consist of 8 players.

Players numbered 1-4 will play the first half (10 minutes), while players numbered 5-8 will play the second half (10 minutes). All players are expected to participate.

Teams may adjust their lineup if needed, but please make sure everyone is aware before Saturday’s matches.

🚨 All teams 🚨 must send a friend request to SpidercidesEC or accept the request received. This will allow direct communication if needed. Each team must also arrive at their respective Origins Football Cup [COUNTRY] room 10 minutes before their match.

Schedule

📅 Now until Saturday: Practice with your teammates in your Country-themed room. You will be given the password to this room. Please do not share with anyone outside of your team.

Tournament Day

📅 All games will take place on Saturday, July 25th

⚽ Game 1: England vs USA @ 17:00 UTC (Habbo Time)

⚽ Game 2: Brazil vs Spain @ 17:30 UTC (Habbo Time)

⚽ Game 3: Loser of Game 1 vs Loser of Game 2 @ 18:00 UTC (Habbo Time)

⚽ Game 4: Winner of Game 1 vs Winner of Game 2 @ 18:30 UTC (Habbo Time)

Please note that the tournament is expected to last approximately 2-3 hours.

Tournament Format

• Single-elimination bracket.

• Each match will be approximately 20 minutes long (10 minutes each half)

• Each team will have 3 players and 1 goalie on the field.

• All players are required to participate in order to be eligible for any prizes.

Game Format

The ball will start in the middle of the field, and each player will stand on their assigned star tile. The goalkeeper may stand anywhere inside the rectangle in front of their net.

When the host activates the Lert or says GO, the match begins!

Scoring a Goal

After each goal:

• The ball will be placed next to the middle star tile of the team that conceded.

• All players must return to their star tiles.

• Play will resume when the host says GO or activates the Lert.

After the first 10-minute half, the remaining 4 players will substitute in. Teams will then switch sides, and the host will swap the goalie nets around. The match ends after the second 10-minute half unless the score is tied.

Tie Breaker: Golden Goal 🏆

If the match ends in a tie:

• An additional 5 minutes will be added.

• The ball will return to the middle.

• When the host says GO or activates the Lert, both teams will battle for the winning goal.

The first team to score wins the match.

Penalty Shootout ⚽

If no goal is scored during Golden Goal, the match will be decided by a penalty shootout. Each player will take a turn shooting against the opposing goalie.

To keep things fair:

• The goalie net on the far right side of the room will be used.

• The ball will be placed where the yellow star is.

• The shooter will have 30 seconds to score.

• The shooter may move freely to take their shot.

• The goalie may move anywhere inside the goalie box.

The penalty shot will end when one of the following occurs:

• A goal is scored.

• The 30-second timer expires.

• The shooter takes a direct shot at the goalkeeper’s net, whether it results in a goal or a save.

• The goalkeeper kicks the ball outside of the designated box area.

If the goalkeeper steps outside the box during the penalty shootout:

• They will receive a warning.

• The host may allow the shooter to restart with a new 30-second timer.

• If the goalie leaves the box a second time, a goal will automatically be awarded to the shooter.

Frequently Asked Questions

• Is there offside? No. There are no offsides in this tournament.

• Are there out of bounds? No. The ball will not be able to leave the playing area. Players are allowed to step on the doormats.

• Can all players move into the opposing team’s side? Yes! All players, including the goalkeeper, can move anywhere on the field.

• Can you hog the ball? Technically, yes. Since this is the first time we are trying this format in Habbo Origins, we understand that it may not play exactly like real football.

• Do you need to pass the ball before scoring? No. Passing is not required before scoring a goal.

• Are yellow or red cards used? Yes, but only for players who misbehave or break the rules. If you are given a red card, you will not be eligible for any prizes.

• Is there stoppage time? No. There will be no stoppage time added unless the host was disconnected from the game unexpectedly.

• If the goalkeeper puts their foot on the ball inside the box, can opponents take it away? Yes. It will be up to the goalkeeper and their teammates to clear the ball away.

• What happens if many players surround the ball and it cannot move? The referee will activate the Lert to get everyone’s attention, then move the ball back to the middle. All players will reset their positions before play continues.

• What happens with no-shows or late arrivals? There will be a small grace period for late players, but teams should be ready before their scheduled match. The game will continue even if players are missing. However, if a team has fewer than 4 players on the field due to no-shows, they will forfeit the match.
